Which State, and Which Entity?
Choose Delaware if your investors or lawyers ask for it. It is the standard for venture-backed startups, but the state charges more to file and levies a flat $300 franchise tax every year, which is why our Delaware plan is $449. If nobody is asking you for Delaware, you probably do not want it.
Your home state is the right answer if you actually live and operate there: forming elsewhere and then registering as a foreign LLC at home doubles your fees for nothing. Tell us where you are and we will say so.
Need an Inc rather than an LLC? We form C-corporations too, typically in Delaware for founders raising money or issuing stock. Corporations carry more paperwork (bylaws, a stock ledger, board consents) and a more complicated franchise tax, so we quote them individually rather than pretending one price fits all. Non-US residents cannot own an S-corporation, so for our international founders a corporation means a C-corp.
